So my X/Twitter account got nuked this week; I'd be upset about it more if I didn't stick to my principles. As you may have noticed, things have changed around here and they're gonna keep changing.
I have deciced to move forward by decentralizing my content to platforms I have total control over; in the meantime until I get masto and @protocol integration done I have created a small section on the site to dump my shitpost-y thoughts that would normally go to X/Twitter. I will import these to whatever network I migrate to when I get around to it. My music is still up; I upgraded that section as well. I'm really digging the red and black geocities thing I've started here; It reminds me of the internet I browsed in my youth.
Back then there was no dumbass eceleb drama and even the lolcows and loons we mocked wrote their own HTML. Everyone could agree bush sucked and we haven't seen that level of political unity round here since the time epstien didn't kill himself. What passes as an indie darling now, would've been a free flashgame packed in with actionscript3 goodness! Remember raiding WOTLK? Dred does! What the FUCK happened to us as a people? What happened to the magic? It's dead. I stare into the void of where it once was and my soul fuckin' weeps. We commodified our passions and hobbies; turned them into 60 second shorts and burned ourselves out on the flashy bits. We let abstraction run rampant all over the fuckin' place and now we have generations who cant use a directory or understand its purpose. That's some blackpilling shit right there, that's some idiocracy we wont be able to have the torch carried very far before it all goes dark shit.
And I used to watch it in real time; I was never a social media guy before I made my X account, and I didn't make it for vanity rather to spite and intimidate; Is this website the same? I don't think so, I don't think my account was pure spite at the end either. I can build and break, I spent all my time on X fighting sophistry and an entire community of web3 cargocultists. I fought creeps and weirdos, I made people take time to rethink and reconsider their positions. I was a spaces host to thousands of people and I was a pariah to those who didn't wanna hear the truth. I need not waste my energy on these fights anymore, I'm coming back to build and I'm gonna do what I do best when I build, build something people cant ignore; Something to show the rest up!
One more wing I'm planning on adding to this geocities asylum will be a project page showcasing the crazy shit I do when I get baked or bored. The kinda shit you gotta tell everyone about.
